The Chino Avenue improvement project is an approximately 5300 LF stretch of roadway and utility improvements for Chino Avenue between Haven Avenue & Hamner Avenue in the city of Ontario, California. 

Together with our clients, X Engineering submitted various design studies for roadway sections, two roundabout designs and various utility alignment studies to the city for selection. This improvement project will include the design and construction of two domestic water lines and two recycled water lines servicing four different pressure zones, a sanitary sewer line, and a storm drain system, which collectively will support the demands of thousands of residential units and multiple large industrial buildings.  
 

The challenging components of the project included avoiding existing Southern California Edison towers and designing around existing wet and dry utilities. When completed, this portion of Chino Avenue will be a beautiful corridor with landscaping on both sides, and within the center median, a well-landscaped roundabout will also serve as an aesthetically pleasing traffic calming feature.
